Challenge

My client started his own mobile veterinary business in Perth a few years ago. As a solo operator and new migrant from South Africa, he needed help building a local audience on Facebook. Before, he had only posted rarely and sporadically to his Facebook page, so we decided to begin with one post a week (Thursdays). I would be responsible for planning, creating content (copy and graphics), scheduling and posting.

My Approach

My client’s audience includes devoted pet owners in the Perth Hills area. The goal was to inform and gently encourage bookings without sounding clinical or salesy. To that end, I often used the language of the client’s customers, drawing directly from their Google reviews. Phrases like “gentle,” “in-home,” “calm and comfortable,” and “explains everything clearly” echo what clients consistently say about his care, creating familiarity and trust. The tone is warm and empathetic, with moments of humour.

By posting consistently once a week, I helped grow the client’s Facebook following from 630 (June 2025) to over 940 in just six weeks, and to 1270 after 6 months.
