Challenge
As a scriptwriter for Piehole TV, I wrote this explainer video script for a leading cloud video surveillance company in the United States. Their target audience includes business owners and small to medium-sized organisations concerned with securing their premises, such as restaurants, banks, car dealerships and schools. Their audience is typically unfamiliar with security technology jargon.
My Approach
I wrote the voiceover and visuals for this project, ensuring that what people see and hear conveys a uniform message. I started by acknowledging the unique perspective of a business owner and the care that only they can have for securing their premises. Opening with empathy builds trust from the start and introduces a human touch to what can be a clinical industry. With only 60 seconds to work with, I wanted to highlight the benefits while also digging into the features to give prospects a sense of the platform’s capabilities without overwhelming them.
My goal was to convey an air of simple efficiency throughout.
